Beijing
After four years I'm back in Beijing. Although I'm been around since my arrival was not much, I immediately found an incredible number of changes that I had not expected. Were there only two barely noticeable subway lines, the city now has a comprehensive and modern subway system with 10 lines - and more are being added.
In the coming days I will look familiar and new attractions. Of course, the Olympic Village is at the top of the list. I also look forward to meeting familiar faces again.
A highlight of a very different nature, I've already experienced. Does it rain in Beijing during the period from October to March, practically never, I'm already landed in the rain. Today, then winter came with tons of snow (!). This has real scarcity value here. Besides a nice contrast to the subtropical heat in Hong Kong. Let's see what Beijing still holds for more surprises.
