Beijing
After four years I'm back in Beijing. Although I'm been around since my arrival was not much, I immediately found an incredible number of changes that I had not expected. Were there only two barely noticeable subway lines, the city now has a comprehensive and modern subway system with 10 lines - and more are being added.
In the coming days I will look familiar and new attractions. Of course, the Olympic Village is at the top of the list. I also look forward to meeting familiar faces again.
A highlight of a very different nature, I've already experienced. Does it rain in Beijing during the period from October to March, practically never, I'm already landed in the rain. Today, then winter came with tons of snow (!). This has real scarcity value here. Besides a nice contrast to the subtropical heat in Hong Kong. Let's see what Beijing still holds for more surprises. Hong Kong
I'm here and enjoy this sensational city. It makes little sense to list the sights - the city must be allowed to just work on you. The skyline of Hong Kong Iceland is emphasized, because on this sight, I still could not see far enough. But the opposite Kowloon or the outlying islands such as Lamma Lantau or Iceland are very beautiful. The latter islands offer peace and relaxation before the hectic bustle of the city center. Absolutely, but getting used to the sub-tropical climate here. End of October, we still fluctuates 26-30 degrees and humidity between 75 and 90%. This is already without physical Actuation very sweaty in my exploration of the mountainous city even more. But I will not complain, it is after all the cool and mild seasons here.
a short trip to Shenzhen, the Chinese have Fabian and I also made, with 11 million people, after all, the fourth largest city in China. not a runner and had not really prepared me out, I thought it a good idea because sometimes participate. By the company, we were a nice group of about 25 people, and that bad can not even 4km be. Well, the distance was in fact less of a problem. It should be the hard road asphalt, the soft gym floors of my joints are not spoiled just as pleasantly felt. It's playoff time
There they are again, the NBA playoffs. And after two match days, there have been some surprises. The Bulls beat the Celtics, thanks to its outstanding rookies Derek Rose, Chauncey Billups buried 8 of 9 three-pointers against New Orleans, and the (by me) believed dead Mavs win by Dirk Nowitzki away in San Antonio. Things can go there much. NBA League Pass
thanks I can for the first time all the games live or mitvervolgen "live on tape" in full length - even if only on the PC. But as a basketball fan in Germany they had already put all other victims. Really annoying but the technical performance of the live streams. Worked during the regular season seem almost perfect, this is no longer the traffic load be able to withstand. At times, went absolutely nothing, not even more so of the Home League Pass could be called. For a paid service really beyond the pale.
But as I said, as Baskeballfan in Germany had it easy has never ...
